I finished Starlighter the other night. It was one of those things where I told myself that I’d only read for like 20 minutes and then go to bed, but ended up reading until I was finished with the book. So….I didn’t actually go to sleep until 2 in the morning. However, it was well worth it. Except the fact that the book ended with a cliff hanger. Now I have to go and find the next book. I have to know what happens to Koren and Jason! Will they be able to free the humans from the enslavement of the slaves or not? Now I have to know. Guess I’m going to have to go and find the next book in the series.
Other than having a cliff hanger ending, this book was quite good. It started out with lots of action, and the action kept going throughout the whole book. Bryan Davis does a good job keeping you reading. Since the book is told in alternating points of views (between Jason and Koren), Davis would do the thing where he’d end one chapter by leaving the reader hanging and moving onto the other character in the next chapter. This is mainly what kept me reading the whole time. I had to know what happened next! This is the issue I have with books that are published in series, especially ones that aren’t all published yet. I can’t wait for the next book to come out, I want to know what happens now. I’m a terribly inpatient person when it comes to this. Luckily for me, I believe this whole series is published, so I should have no problem finding the next book. The only thing will be finding time to read it…..that will be tricky.
I will be onto my next reading adventure now. Until then, keep reading!
Side note: it has come to my attention that I should have a system for rating books that will make it easier to see whether or not a book is good. Any suggestions? I’d like to have a system more creative than stars, so if you have any ideas feel free to comment!
