Maybe this post would have been better timed for the beginning of December, since that would give you more time to get gifts before Christmas. But, better later than never! Maybe you still have some shopping to finish, and maybe you have a specific bookworm in mind. While Etsy would originally be my go-to destination, since we only have a week until Christmas, there are plenty of more practical gifts to get your book-loving friend.
Stylish Bookends
You can never go wrong with decorative pieces that also function to help hold up the piles and piles of books that can probably be found around your bookworm’s house. I know that will be the case in my house some day. Barnes and Noble even has a Hogwarts Express one that’s pretty cool.
Candles
If you’ve scrolled anywhere in the Bookstagram community, you’ve seen that plenty of bookworms also seem to be candle hoarders. Because what else is better than being transported to your favorite fictional world than being accompanied by a fantastic scent? There are plenty of bookish candle companies floating around the internet (Novelly Yours and Frostbeard Studio are two of my favorites), but if you don’t have enough time for shipping, Yankee Candle has some fantastic wintery scents!
Blankets
Okay, making a cozy blanket nest is absolutely the best place to read, especially in the winter when it’s cold and blowy outside. While it hasn’t quite reached those temperatures yet, cuddling up with your favorite blanket and a book is my favorite way to wind down at the end of the day. Target has some excellent ones to choose from, including the gray fuzzy one that I used in my fall Instagram pictures!
Warm Beverages
You obviously need something to drink while you’re reading in your cozy blankent nest, so why not ask for some of your favorite warm beverages? You could go with Starbucks to get your coffee beans, or you local coffee shop. Or Harney and Sons makes excellent tea, if you’re inclined to tea. Or Godiva makes some creamy dark hot chocolate that goes excellent with mix-ins, like Bailey’s.
Reading Accessories
Obviously, every bookworm collects a plethora of bookmarks that are never around when they actually need a bookmark. Nevertheless, a pack of bookmarks is never looked down upon. Along a similar vein, book weights/page holders are immensely helpful if you’re eating, drinking, knitting, just laying down while reading; then you don’t have to hold the pesky pages down! Anything to make reading more comfortable is definitely a win.
Subscription
For those bookworms into audiobooks, a subscription to Audible can go a long way! I just recently started using Audible in the last year, and it’s helped me to get through books I might not have otherwise read (cough, Game of Thrones). Plus, the books you download you get to keep to listen to again and again, as many times as your heart desires.
Literary Clothing
I love the bookish socks that I owned; and every week, when I’m taking a Sock Sunday post for Instagram, I wish that I had more! Out of Print makes a variety of fantastic socks (including lots of Harry Potter ones!) that would make any book lover instantly happy. They can cozy up in their new socks, with their new blanket, and make that fantastic cup of coffee that you bought them.
