TBR seems to be a theme for this week, which I’m okay with. Especially since I’ve started looking at books that I think I’ll be reading next month. February is almost upon us! Which means I’ve gotta make a game plan for the reading challenges I’m participating in this year.
This time, instead of examining books from my early TBR, now you’ll get a glimpse at what’s next on my TBR! Coincidentally, this will also correspond with the books I’m planning on reading for the #24in48 Readathon this weekend! If you haven’t heard of it, you should definitely check it out! I’m going to attempt to read for 24 hours this weekend, so we’ll see how that goes.
Top of TBR
When You Read This by Mary Adkins
This was an ARC that I picked up from work last month, and I’ll coincidentally be reading it for Book Riot’s Read Harder Challenge as well: an epistolary novel. It’s told in a series of emailsĀ and recommended for fans of Rainbow Rowell. I’m already sold.
New Kid by Jerry Craft
Another ARC we got from work! I’m sensing a trend. This one is a graphic novel and it’s middle grade, which will be different for me. I figure adding some graphic novels in will help for those hours when maybe I feel like I’m in a slump.
Apocalypse 5 by Stacey Rourke
This is an ARC that I was approved for on NetGalley which comes out in mid-February. It’s a YA dystopian book that’s been on my radar since I saw an ad for it about a month ago. Since YA dystopian lit is my jam, I’m sure this one will be excellent as well.
Dread Nation by Justina Ireland
I have seen so many great things about this book, and I picked it up at Barnes and Noble’s book blowout sale last fall. This is an alternate history, so it also hits one challenges for Book Riot’s challenge. I think the paperback is coming out soon too?
Amazing Spider-Man volumes 4 and 5 by Dan Slott
I’ve been reading Spider-Man off and on for the past year (like when I read Superior Spider-Man last year!), and though I’m not caught up on the current story line, I’m still reading these newer volumes. It’ll all come together at some point, right?
