Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, which is the perfect time for romance! Specifically, YA romances. While it’s cold and blustery outside, February is really the best time to curl up with a cutesy romance. Armed with a cup of hot chocolate and a fuzzy blanket.
While romance isn’t necessarily my favorite genre, I dabble in it when I need something light. Maybe not all the romances on this list are always light and fun, they’re still books that just make you feel good inside. And now, we have access to a much wider variety of romances in YA books. Huzzah! It’s not perfect yet, but it’s getting there. It’s definitely getting there.
This list of books are of the heart-melting variety. Stock up for the wintry weather that (may be) coming your way!
Romances for Valentine’s Day
Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli
We’ve got some bi rep in Leah, as Albertalli expands her Creekwood world. There are lots of funny moments in this book as well, and you’ll be rooting for Leah to finally be with the person she loves.
What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera
Told in alternating points of view from Arthur and Ben, we get their meet-cute. And the multiple attempts at first dates until they get it just right. Which come on, is absolutely adorable.
Invisible Ghosts by Robyn Schneider
A love story based around two people brought together because they can see ghosts? Count me in! Schneider’s book is unique, and a great quick weekend read.
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
I’m torn between including Carry On or Fangirl here, and decided to go with Fangirl again. Because it’s the perfect love story for that introverted writer! And because Rowell always nails romance head on.
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
Bonus: this book is also made into a movie for you to cuddle up with your hot chocolate and fuzzy blanket. A great Valentine’s Day date, right?

I’ve not read any of those yet but a couple of them are on my TBR list.
