It’s my second to last day for hosting, so I’ve made a Spring Cleaning Book Tag! I’ve never made a book tag before, so I’m excited. I had to look up ideas for spring cleaning, but I think I found some good ones. The Tidy-a-thon is also the theme of Bookending Spring, but I haven’t really done it much. đ Maybe I’ll get to some of it next week.
Bookending Spring is an event created by Sam @ Fictionally Sam and Clo @ Book Dragons. They get a bunch of book bloggers together to create prompts for a season, and itâs been fun! Yesterday’s post was about crafty things to do with books instead of just donating them. Sunday is my last host day, but it’s been fun creating these prompts!
Tag rules:
- Link back to the original post
- Tag as many friends as you want
- Have fun!
Spring Cleaning Book Tag
1. Getting started: A book series you’ve been wanting to read
The Darkest Minds series is one that I have on my shelf, and it’s a dystopia that I haven’t gotten to it yet. I’ve seen the movie, but I’m not sure how close the two are. I am hoping to get to it sometime this year, though! But I feel like I’ve said that about a lot of books.
2. Cleaning/organizing the closet: The best way to organize books
Personally, I organize my books by type, then author. This gets a bit difficult when authors cross genres, but I like having all my YA books together, all my graphic novels together, etc. It makes it easier when I’m in the mood for something particular, then I can find it more quickly.
3. Getting rid of unnecessary things: Book/series you no longer need
Hmm…this is a difficult one for me! There are probably a bunch of ARCs that I don’t need anymore, but I can’t think of them at the moment. I’ll have to collect them soon to get rid of them.
4. Get some air: Your favorite light-hearted read
My favorite recent light-hearted read was Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett. It was a cute, mystery themed romance set in Seattle. What’s not to like?
5. Clean out the kitchen cupboards: Favorite food-themed read
Bloom by Kevin Panetta and Savanna Ganucheau (illustrator). This is a love story that basically takes place in a bakery and it’s adorable and perfect for summer. It’s a graphic novel, so it’s definitely a quick read!
6. Dust the shelves: What’s the fifth book on your bookshelf?
The fifth book on my TBR close to me is Bridge of Clay by Markus Zusak. Which I’m hoping to start this weekend, despite the daunting length.
7. Wishing for the end: A 2019 release you’re really excited about
There’s a lot, but topping the list is Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell. I absolutely loved Carry On and I can’t wait to hear more of Simon and Baz’s story. Plus, we’re due for a new Rainbow Rowell novel. I know that she’s been writing comics, but I want a new novel!
8. Long but satisfying: The longest book series you’ve read
I think this actually has to be The Series of Unfortunate Events, topping in at 13 books. If I would have stuck with the Warriors books that I read when I was a kid, that would win because those keep coming. đ But I can’t think of any longer ones at the moment!
I’m going to tag anyone participating in Bookending Spring 2019! Is that cheating? Oh well. đ
