When thinking of posts for today, June releases is the first thing that came to mind! Honestly, though, how is it almost June already? It seems like May just got started and here we are at the end. But! That means I get to go to BookCon soon, which I am beyond excited for. A whole weekend about books! What could be better than that?
Anyway, there are some great books coming out in June that should definitely be added to your summer reading list. Some of them I’ve gotten to review (or will get to eventually), and they’re going to be great beach reads. Plus June is Pride Month! So be prepared for a series of posts about Pride.
Keep your eyes peeled at bookstores throughout June for these fantastic books, and check out the Pride displays at your local Barnes and Noble!
5 June Releases to Watch Out For
1. Wild and Crooked by Leah Thomas
A story about a girl and a boy at the opposite sides of a town controversy, becoming unlikely friends. And no romance! At least, no romance between the two main narrators. That’s not seen very often in YA. I reviewed it last week, and you can see it in stores on June 4th!
2. Call It What You Want by Brigid Kemmerer
This is an ARC that I have sitting on my shelf to read next! Another book about friendship between two unlikely people, and possibly a romance. I haven’t actually gotten to that part yet. But Brigid Kemmerer’s other books are fantastic, and I’m sure this one will be too!
3. Patron Saints of Nothing by Randy Ribay
Ribay’s book is a one that I have seen being promoted online and it looks like an amazing book. It’s about an immigrant’s struggle with the death of his cousin in the Philippines, as he gets ready for a promising future in the United States.
4. Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
Another ARC that I got from work that I haven’t quite read yet, but I’m definitely hoping to soon! Magic, mystery, and sabotage are all combined in this artistically beautiful novel. Libraries also play an important role in the main character’s journey toward power. Sign me up!
5. The Evil Queen by Gena Showalter
In this fairy tale re-telling, Showalter examines the fate of the Evil Queen from Snow White. This is another ARC that I have from work, but I grabbed it because I love fairy tale re-tellings. I mean, honestly, who doesn’t? This one promises to be awesome.
