I was tagged for the Characters to Books tag on Instagram, so it makes the perfect blogging topic for today! Yesterday, I realized I had written a blog post almost every day for the last two weeks. 😳 So, I took the evening off! Got a lot of reading done, too. But I’m back today, and I have some great things planned for May! And I’m getting pretty far on the assignments for the Avengers Readathon, which has been fun so far!
Anyway, here are the rules for the Characters to Books Tag, which Meher @ The Scribblings tagged me in. 😍
- Link to the creator- Meher Gandhi from The Scribblings if you are doing it on blog or tag @bustleboutbooks if you’re doing it on Instagram.
- Post these rules.
- Answer the prompts with books that fit them. Do not answer with the book the character in the prompt belongs to.
- Tag as many blogger friends you like! (Minimum- 5)
Characters to Books Tag Prompts
Kaz Brekker (Six of Crows) – A book that you could not predict at all
I’m going to go with my old standby, More Than This by Patrick Ness. Seriously, that book is not what you expect it to be. In a totally fantastic way! I don’t think people talk about it enough.
Elizabeth Bennet (Pride and Prejudice) – A book that has strong female characters
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas has a lot of positive portrayals of women, right down to it’s main character. I think Maas writes a lot of books with rounded, strong female characters, which is fantastic! Which reminds me I still need to read Catwoman: Soul Stealer. 😂
Ron Weasley (Harry Potter) – A book that portrays heartwarming friendships
Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee by Jeff Zentner. One of the best portrayals of a positive female friendship that I have read in a long time. We need more buddy books!
Atticus Finch (To Kill A Mockingbird) – A book that’s full of beautiful quotes and descriptions
Oh man. I think I’m going to have to default to The Fault in Our Stars by John Green for this one. He’s always been known for his quotable books. Which I love! But aren’t everyone’s cup of tea.
Dorian Gray (Picture of Dorian Gray) – A book that’s beautiful on the outside, but dark and mysterious on the inside
The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman. The cover is gorgeous, especially the UK edition. But the US edition is still pretty too! But the story is pretty dark, which maybe you could have already guessed from the title.
Donatella Dragna (Caraval) – A book that’s full of wit and breathtaking twists
I’m going to go with a graphic novel series for this one! Saga by Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples. There are so many twists in this story, and I can’t wait for it to be off hiatus again!
