Guys, it’s officially BookCon weekend! I’m so so excited, and so happy to have the chance to go. Plus, it’s my first time going to New York! This is the vacation I’ve been needing lately. I’ve been desperately trying to get homework and other stuff done before I go so I don’t have to worry about it while I’m there. For the most part, I’ve been successful!
Anyway, I thought I’d make a post about the things I’m most excited for at BookCon and for my trip in general. Been finding things to do and making a schedule. I’ve also been saving my money for all the food and all the books. 😂
BookCon: Looking Forward To
1. Rainbow Rowell
Rainbow Rowell is going to be there, promoting her new book Wayward Son, the sequel to Carry On. Secretly hoping there are ARCs (but I doubt it). But I’m still excited to get some books signed and to hear her talk about all her new projects!
2. Panels
There are going to be some fantastic panels there. Unfortunately, some of them overlap with other ones I desperately want to see. But no matter! I’ll for sure (hopefully) be seeing John Green and learning a bit about the new season of The Handmaid’s Tale.
3. Exhibitors
Okay, let’s be honest, one of the best things about going to conferences is the swag! ARCs, posters, and everything else. Can’t wait to stock up and bring back all the things. Not that they’re needed, but you know. I still want them.
4. Connections
There are going to be so many bookish related people at BookCon that I have to make some connections, hopefully. There are bookstragram meetups and such, and it would be great to meet some of you in real life! Come find me if you want.
5. Jason Reynolds
Finally, we got tickets to go to one of Jason Reynolds’ signings, and I’m actually really excited to get my copy of Miles Morales signed. Probably will have to pick up one of his other books to get signed as well.
