Another month, another tip Down the TBR Hole, this time for June!
Down the TBR Hole is a meme created by Lia over at Lost in a Story to work through that TBR list. I’ve been working through 8 books on my to-read Goodreads shelf. You can see my last post here!
The meme goes like this:
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf
- Put in ascending order by date added
- Take the first 5 or so books (8 in my case)
- Read the summary
- Decide: stay or go?
I’ve actually been adding a lot of books to my to-read shelf lately, not that I’m caught up to that yet. 😂 It’s been enjoyable to see some of the books I previously added to my reading list because it shows the state of mind I was in. Or the book groups I was in. A fun trip down memory lane!
June Down the TBR Hole
Everything All At Once by Katrina Leno
This is a graphic novel that I’ve absolutely been needing to read! It just keeps being pushed aside because of other books/review books. But it’s gotten great reviews everywhere, and it looks gorgeous. It stays.
Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley
Another newer release, it’s basically a love story set in a book store. But it also looks like it’s more than that; a story about grief, love, and finding old friendships. Obviously, it’s something that I need to read. It stays.
Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhoda Belleza
I actually picked up this ARC when I worked at Booklist, but I haven’t found the time to read it. Too many other things have gotten in the way. The cover is really pretty, though! It might work its way there this summer. It stays!
Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
When this book first came out, this book was almost everywhere. And it sounds fantastic! It’s about a girl who creates a popular webcomic, hiding behind the internet. When an avid fan moves to her school, she thinks it’s maybe time to come out of her shell. It stays!
The Martian by Andy Weir
I’ve seen this movie, just never got around to reading the book. I would like to read the book eventually, but it’s probably not a priority at the moment. I’ll move it to eventually.
Jane, Unlimited by Kristin Cashore
Kristin Cashore wrote one of my favorite fantasy series, and I’ve been so excited to read this book! I actually got a copy for Christmas, but I haven’t been able to read it yet. But I will! Soon! It stays.
Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur
Another book of poetry, one that people have raved about. It would definitely be a quick read, and nice to see what all o the hype is about. I’ll move it to eventually.
Renegades by Marissa Meyer
Another series by Marissa Meyer that I own but haven’t quite read it yet. I started the Lunar Chronicles last year, but I haven’t finished that yet either. But this one is about superheroes, and that’s right up my alley! It stays.
Stay or Go?
Out of the 8 books for June:
6 stayed
2 went to eventually
0 were elminated
Oops? I guess I should have eliminated more? Eh. They are books I’ll read eventually. 😂
