I’m already writing a June Wrap-Up post, how can that be? Seems like May was just yesterday. Originally, I thought that June wasn’t a great reading month for me, but looking back, it was! I finished a lot of books and still managed to finish reading challenge prompts, too.
You know, for someone who thought she would have way less time to read, I’m definitely proving myself wrong this year. I’ve already reached 100 books for the year! I’m not sure how I’ve been able to keep up with the reading with everything else going on, but I’m not mad about it. Audiobooks have also been a lifesaver! I’ve been able to get to series I’ve been meaning to get to by listening to them instead.
Anyway, I finished 17 books this month, so without further ado, Amanda’s reading updates!
Reading Challenges
Staying caught up on these! And there are some readathons happening later this summer that I’m planning on doing, so I’m super excited! Especially since classes will be done and I’ll have a little bit of free time.
For the Unreadshelf Project, the challenge was to read a book that featured a place you wanted to go. I chose:
- Again, But Better by Christine Riccio
It’s mostly set in London (where I’ve already been), but she also travels around Europe and I so want to do that.
Stayed caught up on Book Riot’s Read Harder Challenge, too! I’m hoping to stay on track for the rest of the year as well.
- A book of manga: Death Note, Vol. 1 by Tsugumi Oba
- A book in which an animal/inanimate object is a pov character: Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
I’m really excited for next month’s prompts, and I’ve really enjoyed reading outside of my comfort zone for these challenges too.
June Best and Worst
I read a lot of review books this month, mostly because I agreed to too many reviews. 😂 But I’m mostly caught up now! Just a few more to go. Going to try to not include so many in July so I can read some of the other books on my TBR cart.
My favorite book I read this month was probably Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. I’ve been listening to this series on audiobook and it’s amazing! Seriously, if you haven’t read it, you should.
I don’t think I necessarily had a least favorite this month? I liked pretty much everything I read. So, skipping this for the moment.
