This week’s Top Ten Tuesday post is focusing on Most Anticipated Releases of 2019! Which is something I’ve been thinking about lately, because 2019 is halfway over. But there are a lot of great books coming out this fall! Like, a lot of great books. And fall is my favorite season, so there’s so much to look forward to!
Also, you’ve probably already heard, but they announced that there’s going to be a prequel to The Hunger Games published next year! It’s been a while since the last book was published, but yes. I need this book right now. For many, many reasons. 😂
Anyway, back to the post at hand. That book doesn’t come out until 2020. Top Ten Tuesday is a meme that was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is currently run by The Artsy Reader Girl. If you haven’t checked out their posts yet, you definitely should! I’ve been doing them since January and have enjoyed each one. You can check out my last one here!
Most Anticipated Releases of 2019
1. Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell
Is there any question that Rainbow Rowell would be on the list? When she talked about this book at Book Con, she said it wasn’t originally planned, but it just kind of happened. And honestly, that sounds perfect.
Release date: September 24
2. The Testaments by Margaret Atwood
The highly anticipated sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale is coming out this fall! I’m curious to see if it matches where the show went or if it’s something different. Either way, it’s sure to be good!
Release date: September 10
3. Permanent Record by Mary H.K. Choi
I actually receive this ARC at Book Con (eep!), so I’ll get to read it before it comes out this fall. But I’m still excited for it! Especially since I loved Emergency Contact.
Release date: September 3
4. Look Both Ways by Jason Reynolds
Another novel by Jason Reynolds? Sign me up. I’ll read anything and everything he writes, especially if he narrates the audiobook. 😂
Release date: October 8th
5. Pumpkin Heads by Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks
Is it cheating if I include more than one book by Rainbow Rowell? Oh well. This is a graphic novel that comes out this fall, and Rowell said it’s her happiest book. Yay!
Release date: August 27
6. Orpheus Girl by Brynne Rebele-Henry
A book that I just got approved for on NetGalley, and honestly, the cover is absolutely beautiful. It seems like it will be the perfect book for fall!
Release date: October 8
7. Jackpot by Nic Stone
Even though I still haven’t gotten to Nic Stone’s second book, I still am looking forward to this one! After the beautiful book that is Dear Martin, this one is sure to be fantastic!
Release date: October 15
8. Destroy All Monsters by Sam J. Miller
The last book I read by Sam J. Miller was The Art of Starving, and it was a beautiful, heartbreaking book. I’ve heard great things about this one so far too! And it comes out soon!
Release date: July 2
9. Wilder Girls by Rory Power
This is actually the BN YA Book Club selection for August, and it looks like it’s going to make for interesting discussion. Plus, the cover is just mesmerizing.
Release date: July 9
10. Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff
I will get around to reading the second book in this series before this book comes out, but maybe closer to the release date. 😂 You know, that way I don’t have to wait to find out what happens next.
Release date: September 3

Yeah! It’s coming May of 2020, and I absolutely can’t wait! 🙂

Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater. Coming out 11/9/2019! I will read anything she writes except the Shiver trilogy. Couldn’t get into that one. It follows the Lynch family after The Raven Cycle series.
Amanda says
Oh my goodness, how did I forget about that one! I’m excited for it too 🙂
