Sorry for the absence, lately, but we’re to another Down the TBR Hole post for July! Like I said last week, I’m a bit swamped with end of semester projects and it feels like I have no time to do anything else. I’m still reading, though! Not as much as in June, but I’ve still gotten some books in.
Down the TBR Hole is a meme created by Lia over at Lost in a Story to work through that TBR list. I’ve been working through 8 books on my to-read Goodreads shelf. You can see my last post here!
The meme goes like this:
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf
- Put in ascending order by date added
- Take the first 5 or so books (8 in my case)
- Read the summary
- Decide: stay or go?
Still been adding books like crazy, but I don’t think we’re caught up to that yet. Guess that’s the plight of a bookworm; always adding to that TBR!
July Down the TBR Hole
One Great Leap by Heather Kaczynski
I actually reviewed the first book in this series back when it first came out, and it ended on such a cliffhanger that I can’t believe that I haven’t read this one yet! It stays.
Love in the Time of Global Warming by Francesca Lia Block
This was added–I think when looking for books with bixsexual characters? Honestly, I don’t remember much about it. It leaves.
We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
Someone from grad school actually recommended this to me. It’s supposed to be a really good, creepy book. Maybe I’ll save it for fall? It stays.
Bonfire by Krysten Ritter
I love Krysten Ritter in Jessica Jones, and I’m still intrigued by this book that she wrote. I think it’s supposed to be a thriller? Either way, the premise still sounds fascinating! It goes to eventually.
Paper Girls, Vol. 1 by Brian K. Vaughn
Vaughn writes Saga, which is probably one of my all-time favorite comics series. Which ended on such a cliffhanger before hiatus! Anyway, this one is probably just as good, just haven’t gotten around to it yet. It stays.
Red Rising by Pierce Brown
This is actually the next audiobook I’m planning on listening to! I’ve been super excited to start this series because I’ve only heard good things. And I need some good dystopia! It stays.
Red Clocks by Leni Zumas
Another fascinating dystopia that I can’t wait to get my hands on! People have said it’s similar to The Handmaid’s Tale, which is probably another one of my favorites. It stays.
Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson
I guess I’m saving this for when I’m in the mood for a fantastic mystery. And, I think the third book comes out soon? So, maybe I’ll just wait for that. It moves to eventually.
Stay or Go?
Out of the 8 books for July:
5 stayed
2 went to eventually
1 was eliminated
Still aren’t really eliminating that many, but 🤷 They’re all books I want to read at some point. 😂
