I actually haven’t gotten to do much beach reading this summer, but beach reads are still great! There’s nothing like just being able to sit with the sound of the waves and read a book. I wish I’d have more time to do it this summer, but I feel like I haven’t had a lot of time to do things outside of class and work. Definitely looking forward to August when I get a bit of a break from school!
What defines a beach read to you? Typically for me, a beach read is something that I can read quickly and get engaged in, completely entertaining me. I love reading an escape book while sitting in the sand! I’m lucky I live so close to a beach to do so.

Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
I always forget how funny this book is until I read it again. Becky Albertalli is one of the queens of writing humor in YA, I think. Her books are so entertaining and great to read at the beach!
We Were Liars by E. Lockart
Maybe you’re someone that loves to get lost in a mystery on the beach. If so, this one is great for you! E. Lockhart is the master at plot twists and there’s a likely chance that you won’t see this one coming.
Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett
I loved this romance when I reviewed it later this year, and it’s perfect for those looking for a romance to read on the beach! Mystery, love, Seattle, coffee–what’s not to love about this adorable romance?
Bloom by Kevin Panetta and Savanna Ganucheau
If graphic novels are more your pace, this is the perfect one to read in an afternoon on the beach! It’s an adorable romance between two boys that fall in love baking. What’s not to like?
Start Here by Trish Doller
This is a recent review for me, and I believe it comes out sometime in August. The perfect time to pick it up and read before school starts up again! Two friends rekindle their friendship on a sailing trip before leaving for college.
