The Reading Rush: TBR

I’m almost to 24 hours for the 24 in 48 Readathon, but The Reading Rush is coming this week too! Previously known as the Book-Tube-A-Thon, The Reading Rush is the largest readathon held on Youtube. Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re not a booktuber, Amanda! You are correct! 😂 But, I thoroughly enjoy taking part in the Instagram challenges and trying to read 7 books in a week. Since I’ve finished at least 3 this weekend, it shouldn’t be too hard.

The only difficulty that I might run into is my classes are just wrapping up this week, so I’ve got a few final projects to finish. But I think I can manage both and still get to the seven books. The Reading Rush creates different reading challenges for the week, and I’ve picked out the books that I’m going to read (I think!). I have to add a few more to get to seven.

Anyway, here’s what I’ve got planned to read this week! My July Wrap-Up is going to have an insane amount of books on it, I think. 😂

The Reading Rush TBR

1. Read a book with purple on the cover

I’ll be reading Death By Pumpkin Spice by Alex Erickson. I’ve been needing to read a cozy mystery for Book Riot’s Read Harder challenge this month, so this is the perfect opportunity!

2. Read a book in the same spot the entire time

Is it cheating if I use a graphic novel for this? Nah. Especially since I’ve got a variety of things going on at work throughout the week. I’m planning on reading Spider-Man: Miles Morales Vol. 1 by Brian Michael Bendis. Which will probably make me want to pick up the rest of them at work.

3. Read a book you meant to read last year

Apparently the only way I’m going to finish The Lunar Chronicles is by reading one book a year for this readathon. I’ve picked Scarlet by Marissa Meyer for this one!

4. Read an author’s first book

Going to finally get around to reading Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston because I’m kinda in the mood for a romance.

5. Read a book with a non-human main character

Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff will kind of be an extension of my Jay Kristoff readathon from this weekend. More fun adventures in space, just what I need because I’m missing Illuminae.

6. Pick a book that has five or more words in the title

Using Red, White, & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston again because it’s not a short book and who knows if I’ll be able to get to another one.

7. Read and watch a book-to-movie adaptation

Using Spider-Man: Miles Morales Vol 1 again for this one, mostly because I just wanted an excuse to watch Into the Spider-Verse again. Who doesn’t need extra excuses to watch that movie?

8. Bonus: read seven books

I’ve got five books listed here, so I’ve just gotta add two others throughout the week. Stay tuned to my Twitter and Instagram to see what they are!
