Trying to get back on a schedule with today’s Top Ten Tuesday post, featuring Auto-Buy Authors! Honestly, I feel like I haven’t had a day to just relax lately. But, this weekend I’m planning on doing the 24 in 48 Readathon! I actually have Saturday and Sunday off, so I think I’ll actually be able to complete it this time. And The Reading Rush (formerly Book-Tube-A-Thon) starts next week! So, a bunch of reading things are happening, and I’ll have more posts about them at the end of this week.
This week, we’re talking about Auto-Buy Authors! Basically, authors whose new books you’ll buy without even knowing what they’re about. 😂 It feels like my list is constantly growing; the woes of being a bookworm.
Top Ten Tuesday is a meme that was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is currently run by The Artsy Reader Girl. If you haven’t checked out their posts yet, you definitely should! I’ve been doing them since January and have enjoyed each one. Check out my latest one here!
Top Ten Auto-Buy Authors
1. Patrick Ness
Ever since reading his books when I was in grad school I’ve been hooked. I’ve read every single YA book he’s written (most of them at least twice) and I’m never disappointed. Bonus: they’re almost never in the same genre! I also got to meet him when I was living in Chicago, and he was so, so nice.
2. Rainbow Rowell
I’ve actually finally finished all of Rainbow Rowell’s books as of this year (Attachments was my last one), and she’s got some great stuff coming out this year! I can’t wait.
3. Jeff Zentner
My friend Alyssa actually introduced me to him back when The Serpent King was first published, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Full of heart and emotion, you’ll never be disappoint!
4. Shaun David Hutchinson
The first book I read by Hutchinson was We Are the Ants, and one of my favorite things about his books are that they’re all connected. And, I feel I like his books even more after reading Brave Face. I just did a project on him for my YA class and I hope to be able to meet him at an event some day!
5. Angie Thomas
With only two books published, this one hasn’t been difficult so far. 😂 But, I will definitely pick up anything else she writes in the future! Because her first two books were amazing.
6. Adam Silvera
More Happy Than Not was actually a book that I had a book hangover for, which doesn’t happen often. There was just so much emotion in it that I felt I needed a break after. And he’s writing a fantasy book, out next year!
7. Stephen Chbosky
Does this one count because he hasn’t published a book since The Perks of Being a Wallflower? Idk, but I’m still counting it because he has a new book coming out this fall!
8. David Arnold
I actually got to meet him at Book Con and he’s such a nice person! And all of his books are fantastic, especially Noah Hypnotik. One of my favorites!
9. Laurie Halse Anderson
She’s been publishing books since I was in high school, and though I haven’t read the middle grade ones, I’ll definitely buy any YA ones.
10. Maggie Stiefvater
Another one that I’ve been reading since high school, and she has a new book coming out this fall too! I better save up my money for all the books coming out this fall.

I really loved Attachments but haven’t read more by RRainbow. Nice variety.

Oh, yay, I didn’t realize the 24 in 48 was going on already! I’m so out of the loop. Sadly, I have family visiting, and for some reason, I don’t think they’d appreciate me reading during their entire stay. I mean, it wouldn’t surprise them, but still. xD Good luck!I haven’t read Patrick Ness yet, but I’ve heard such good things about him, and I definitely need to pick him up soon! Same with Maggie Stiefvater. Great list! Here’s my TTT post.

Yeah it’s Saturday and Sunday! I just found out about it the other day, so we’re in a similar boat. I just got lucky my schedule lined up! I’m trying to convince everyone I know to read Patrick Ness and so far, I’ve partway succeeded. 🙂 Thank you! I see you have Neal Shusterman on yours and he’s a favorite too! Can’t wait for Toll.
