August is already halfway over, so it’s time for the August Edition of Down the TBR Hole! Trying to trim down that ever-growing TBR list a few books at a time.
Down the TBR Hole is a meme created by Lia over at Lost in a Story to work through that TBR list. I’ve been working through 8 books on my to-read Goodreads shelf. You can see my last post here!
The meme goes like this:
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf
- Put in ascending order by date added
- Take the first 5 or so books (8 in my case)
- Read the summary
- Decide: stay or go?
Still been adding books like crazy, but I don’t think we’re caught up to that yet. Guess that’s the plight of a bookworm; always adding to that TBR!
Down the TBR Hole: August Edition
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng
Maybe a bestseller add from when this book first came out? Or maybe I entered a giveaway for it, I don’t remember 😂 Either way, I probably won’t get to it any time soon, so it goes.
Let’s Talk About Love by Claire Kann
This book was added because there’s an asexual character in it, I’m almost sure of it. Plus, it sounds right up my alley, so it’ll stay.
Radio Silence by Alice Oseman
Another one added because it has an asexual character in it! People have also raved about Alice Oseman’s work on Twitter and Instagram, so basically I need to read her stuff. But it always gets pushed to the back–maybe that’ll change in the near future. It stays.
Wildcard by Marie Lu
I know what you’re thinking–you haven’t read this yet? How could you wait with the cliffhanger from Warcross? And you’re totally right–I don’t know why I haven’t read this yet. I definitely need to! It stays.
Dry by Neal Shusterman
Neal Shusterman is absolutely one of my favorite YA authors, and he has a new book coming out this fall! This isn’t a part of any series, but definitely one that I still need to read. It stays.
Flawed by Andrea Dorfman
I honestly don’t remember adding this to my TBR list, so I must have entered a giveaway for it? It sounds interesting, but just not something that is an immediate “need to read right now.” It goes.
The Wicked King by Holly Black
I have not read The Cruel Prince (sorry Holly Black), and I’d like to but there’s just so much hype surrounding this series. I’m afraid I’ll just end up disappointed. Maybe I’ll just wait until the entire series is published and then dive in. It goes.
That Night by Amy Giles
Amy Giles’s first book was phenomenal. I devoured it in basically one train ride from Chicago to Michigan. I’ve seen this one around and I can’t believe I haven’t read it yet. It stays.
Stay or Go?
Out of the 8 books for August:
5 stayed
3 were eliminated
About half and half–so, a good month!
