With the release of Pumpkin Spice at work, September releases were on my mind! Everyone, fall is just around the corner. My absolute favorite season! I’m all in for the cooler weather, fall scents, pumpkin flavored things, and leaves changing color. However, I have refrained from changing my Instagram theme to fall until next week. You should be proud because I bought a bunch of stuff at Michael’s last weekend just for that.
Anyway, there are so many great YA books coming out this September! It feels like a lot of publishers push their books in the fall because of the holidays. For good reason! But, it’s difficult to wait until Christmas sometimes if it’s a book you feel like you’ve been waiting for forever. These five books are ones I’ll definitely be getting immediately!
Anticipated September Releases
Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell
I re-read Carry On last month in order to prepare for this book, and I’m so glad I did! It had been a while since I read it. Definitely needed a refresher to get me in the mood for Wayward Son. So, so excited to see where Simon and Baz go next!
There Will Come a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool
This one might be cheating because I do have an ARC of this book. 😂 But that doesn’t make me less excited for it! I love reading atmospheric fantasy in the fall, and this seems like it’s exactly that.
Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff
I admit, I was a bit late to this bandwagon, but now I’m fully on it! Especially with the cliffhanger that we had in Godsgrave. Such a cliffhanger! This is one of those books that skirts the line between YA and adult fantasy (it is a bit dark). My only qualm–I own the other ones in paperback. 😂
The Girl the Sea Gave Back by Adrienne Young
Another perfect book for fall, honestly! Young’s first book was full of mythology and transported me to the world of the vikings. Can’t wait to see what this one entails!
Loki: Where Mischief Lies by Mackenzie Lee and Stephanie Hans
Sign me up for this next Marvel novelization! Though, I still need to get to the Captain Marvel one. And countless other ones. 😂 Doesn’t make me any less excited for this one, though.

This September is such a good month for book releases! I legit have no idea how I’ll get to all of these books 🙈

It really is! And same. With school starting, I won’t have much time for reading! 🤷🙈
