Time for another Top Ten Tuesday post, this week featuring character besties! Or, characters you’d love to be best friends with. Ahh! This prompt is so fun because there are often a lot of characters where I’m like, I’d love to hang out with you in real life. Spring from the page and become my new best friend, please!
Romance is also 100% better in books than it is in real life, but that’s probably a discussion for another time. 😂 I’ve read quite a few romance heavy books recently, which feels right for the end of the summer. We’ll get to some darker books when fall comes.
Top Ten Tuesday is a meme that was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is currently run by The Artsy Reader Girl. If you haven’t checked out their posts yet, you definitely should! I’ve been doing them since January and have enjoyed each one. Check out my last one here!
Character Besties
1. Alex Claremont-Diaz from Red, White, & Royal Blue
Alex is probably my favorite character from this book, with June at a close second. Though Henry is up there too. They’re all so great, honestly. I’d love to just join their little friend group. P.S. Alex is the subject of my latest playlist!
2. Hermione Granger from Harry Potter
Obviously, Hermione is my favorite character from the series and we would have hundreds of lovely bookish conversations. Plus, she could teach me magic. 😂
3. Levi from Fangirl
Levi is a barista and really accommodating of Cath’s anxiety and he just sounds like the perfect friend. Who wouldn’t love someone who comforts you and makes excellent coffee?
4. Ezra Mason from Illuminae
Kady Grant would make a pretty good friend, too. Honestly, all of them from this series would make excellent friends. Maybe I should say friend groups I want to join instead?
5. Charlie from Perks of Being a Wallflower
One of my favorite books of all time, and I think Charlie would make a great friend. He’s a great listener and really loyal, and we could again, talk about books all day.
6. Peter Parker from Spider-Man
My favorite superhero, and despite always running off to do Spider-Man stuff, Peter Parker is a perfectly normal guy. And always super focused on protecting his friends.
7. Simon Spier from Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda
We’d totally hang out, get iced coffee, and talk about movies or music or something. Plus, he’s funny so we would have tons of fun!
8. Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games
I know Katniss gets mixed reviews, but she’s probably my favorite character from this series. She’s got so much spunk and fire (get it? 😂).
9. Kenji from Shatter Me
Kenji is the perfect best friend to Juliette, and I love that their relationship never shifts to something romantic. It’s one of my favorite things about this series.
10. Lydia from The Serpent King
She’s a great best friend to Dill and Travis, forming their little band of misfits. Plus, I could take some pointers from her about how to be a successful blogger.

This is so relatable! Hermione’s the best; I mentioned in my TTT that we could go around pranking people with her magic :). Also, I’m not much a marvel fan but somehow really enjoy Spiderman! Have you seen Far From Home yet?

I’d want to be friends with Katniss, too. There would never be a dull moment when she was around. 🙂 My post: https://lydiaschoch.com/top-ten-tuesday-book-characters-id-love-to-be-besties-with/
