It’s officially the end of September, which means it’s time for another Wrap-Up post! I’ve started gathering up some stuff for a Halloween costume, even though I don’t have anything to dress up for. 😂 But it’s good to have a costume on hand, nonethless. Maybe something will come up before then!
For the most part, I achieved my reading goals for the month. I hit all the challenges, and even read some of the new releases from this month! Obviously Wayward Son was a highlight, but so was Darkdawn! So many good books coming out this fall.
My total count for books read in September is 14–the same as last month! I’m counting Serpent & Dove even though I’m not quite finished with it yet. I plan on finishing it tonight, though! Check out my post from last month, if you’re curious.
Reading Challenges
For the Unread Shelf Project, the challenge this month was buddy read. I read:
- Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff, along with quite a few other people in the Instagram community
What an ending to a violent, emotional trilogy! Definitely worthy of the series.
Stayed caught up on Book Riot’s Read Harder Challenge, too! Listened to audiobooks for both of them, actually. Enjoyed one more than the other:
- A business book: Marketing: A Love Story by Bernadette Jiwa
- A book by a nonbinary author: I Wish You All the Best by Mason Deaver
I loved I Wish You All the Best. One of my favorite reads from the month, for sure!
Other September Favorites
September also brought the first issue of Spider-Man written by J.J. Abrams, which I actually really enjoyed. It follows Ben Parker, the son of Peter Parker, after the death of MJ. I’m not really quite caught up on other Spider-Man comics, but this might be one that I keep up on consistently. I don’t do that often, but this one might be worth it.
I also (almost) finished The Umbrella Academy on Netflix, which was also really good! I’ve got two episodes left, and I plan on finished it by the end of the week. The show has made me interested in reading the graphic novels, which I might pick up from work at some point in the next month or so. Curious to see how they compare!
