Different month, same idea: October is flying by! We’re getting Christmas stuff in at work already, and it isn’t even Halloween yet. I’m getting closer to my new reading goal of 200 books this year, too. I think I can do it before the year is over, especially with the rate I’ve been reading lately!
Down the TBR Hole is a meme created by Lia over at Lost in a Story to work through that TBR list. I’ve been working through 8 books on my to-read Goodreads shelf. You can see my last post here!
The meme goes like this:
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf
- Put in ascending order by date added
- Take the first 5 or so books (8 in my case)
- Read the summary
- Decide: stay or go?
Always adding books, so it’s definitely good to go through them once in a while. Prioritize the books at the top of the TBR, as much as possible.
Down the TBR Hole: October Edition
In Paris With You by Clementine Beauvais
Eugene and Tatiana had fallen in love 10 years ago, but life separated them. Now, after a chance meeting, they’ve been given another chance, in Paris. It sounds cute, but I think I added this to enter a giveaway. It goes.
Tin Heart by Shivaun Plozza
Marlowe gets a second chance a life after a heart transplant, and now she wants to find the donor’s family. I honestly don’t even remember adding this one to the list, so it goes.
Carmilla by Kim Turrisi
A re-telling based on a vampire web series, one I also don’t remember adding. It also doesn’t seem like something I’d generally read, so it goes.
Pride by Ibi Zoboi
Another re-telling, this one focused on Pride and Prejudice, but with diversity and set in modern times. I love this author, and this one is definitely still on my list to read! It stays.
The Dysasters by P.C. Cast
A book about teens with powers, fighting against an evil supervillain. Usually my speed, but this one has kind of flown under my radar. It goes.
Your Own Worst Enemy by Gordon Jack
About three candidates running for school president, the highest position of power in their high school. Apparently a highly satirical novel, but one that I also don’t remember adding to my TBR. Seems like a theme today. It goes.
The Resolutions by Mia Garcia
Jess wants everything to go back to the way it was before her and her four friends started growing apart. Hey, guess what? Another book I don’t remember anything about. It also goes.
The Disasters by M.K. England
A group of misfits fighting evil in space. What more could you want? I’ve been wanting to read this book for a while, too, so it definitely stays.
Stay or Go?
Out of the 8 books for October:
6 leave
2 are staying
Man, I was ruthless this month. 😂 But that’s okay! There’s always something to read.
