It’s November Wrap Up time! As seems to be the trend, November was a bit of a whirlwind for me. Working retail, balancing two jobs, and finishing up projects means that I haven’t had much free time. But I’ve still made time for reading! I basically finished my goals for the month, and I’m pretty proud of that. Less phone time and more reading time!
Anyway, I’m one book away from making it to 16 books this month (I’m hoping to finish Scarlet tonight!). Lots of variety in what I read this month, too, so stay tuned! Because there were a lot of great books.
If you’re curious about what I read last month, check out my October post here.
Reading Challenges
For the Unread Shelf Project, the challenge this month was favorite genre. So, I’m almost finished with:
- Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
This series has been on my list to finish for ages, and my goal is to finish it by the end of the year! I have faith that I can do it.
I stayed caught up on Book Riot’s Read Harder Challenge, too! These were some diverse reads, which was probably my favorite thing doing this challenge this year. Definitely will be doing it next year, too!
- A comic by an LGBTQIA creator: Spinning by Tillie Walden
- A children’s or middle grade book (not YA) that has won a diversity award since 2009: Hurricane Child by Kheryn Callendar
Tillie Walden has quickly become one of my favorite writers/illustrators. I’ve loved everything I’ve read by her so far! And Hurricane Child was different, and also something that isn’t covered a lot in middle grade/teen books. It was great to read a new perspective.
Other November Favorites
Let’s see, what else did I see or watch during November? Oh, I did watch The Sun Is Also A Star, which was a pretty good adaptation! I think they changed the ending from the book, though. At least from what I could remember. The movie had a bit more satisfying ending, I think.
I started watching HBO’s Watchmen, too, but I’ve only seen one episode. It’s really interesting so far, though! Different from what I was expecting, but I like the way it’s drawing from the original book.

I need to watch The Sun is Also A Star seeing as I have read the book! You’ve been so busy that I am impressed you made so much time for reading! And I wasn’t the hugest fan of Umbrella Academy vol 1 either. Surprised at Alex, Approximately getting such a low rating 🙁 I am very excited for Imaginary Friend! Hope you have a wonderful December x

The Sun is Also a Star was actually a good adaption of the book, for the most part! I enjoyed it. 🙂 Yeah, I know a lot of people loved Alex, Approximately, there was just something about it that didn’t jive with me. Imaginary Friend was creepy and great! I hope you have a great December, too. 🙂
