So this crazy month is over! That doesn’t mean craziness won’t also meet us in April; in fact, I’m sure that it will. But we’ll just keep on keeping on. One thing that this stay at home order has meant for me is that I have a ton more time for reading. I’m trying to balance it out with other things, but mostly I just end up reading. So, my March 2020 Wrap Up might include a bit more books than normal!
Well, looking at my February Wrap Up, that’s not exactly true. Somehow, I read just as much in February. I’m sure April will be different, though! I’ve got quite the TBR pile picked out, and will be participating in the Magical Readathon. More on that in a post later this week!
Reading Challenges
For the Unreadshelf Project, the prompt this month was longest on your shelf. Which I misinterpreted because I only wrote “longest” in my bullet journal. So, I read the longest book on my shelf instead:
- Skyward by Brandon Sanderson
I wasn’t sure about it at first, but it was excellent! Luckily, I was able to pick up the sequel from the library before we had to close to the public. The people over at the Unreadshelf Project are also running a bingo challenge for March-April, which I’ve already almost completed.
For Book Riot’s Read Harder challenge, I read one thing out of my comfort zone and one thing not:
- Read a book about a natural disaster: Dry by Neal Shusterman
- Read a play by an author of color or queer author: How I Learned to Drive by Paula Vogel
I’ve never been a fan of reading plays, so this was an interesting experience for me. I would much rather watch it on the stage.
Other March Favorites
I picked Watchmen back up yesterday, though I’m still not very far. Only the third episode in, but things are getting interesting! I also started watching Westworld with my sister, which has been recommended to me in the past by I never got around to watching it. My sister is also watching Parks and Rec for the first time, so we’ve been watching that in the evenings. Honestly, I forgot how funny it was! Something much needed in a time like this.
As far as movies go, we watched Frozen 2, which was a pretty decent sequel. Onward is supposed to come out on Disney+ this weekend, so we’ll probably watch that too! Also watched Knives Out, which was a fun, albeit predictable mystery.

Yes, we have to keep keeping on despite it all! Glad to hear you’re doing well and well, reading more doesn’t seem like too much trouble in my opinion. I am glad to know you loved Born a Crime too. I love Trevor Noah and his tv series. I am not surprised that American Dirt was such a disappointment as well ;.; I’m not going to be reading that one. I agree! Yes, Born a Crime was fantastic, especially the audiobook. I loved it! American Dirt was for a book club for work, so required reading. 🤷 Hope you stay healthy! 💜
