I’ll admit, I’m a bit late to the Jem Carstairs fandom. I stopped following the Shadowhunter world a while ago, mostly because The Mortal Instruments books didn’t really interest me anymore (still accurate), and they felt like they just kept coming. But, as I’m reading through Cassandra Clare’s book, I’ve found that I like her historical stuff so much more.
Enter: Jem Carstairs! The characters in The Infernal Devices trilogy were probably my favorite so far. There was just so much emotion there; and I didn’t find them as annoying as I find Clary and Jace (sorry not sorry). Yes, there’s still a bit of drama, but that’s to be expected when reading Cassandra Clare, I feel. I can’t wait to finish The Mortal Instruments so I can get back into more of the historical stuff!
Playlist: Jem Carstairs
Jem is basically a cinnamon roll character who has accepted his lot in life. He loves Tessa with all his heart, and is fiercely protective of his parabatai, Will. He’s everything good about the Shadowhunter world, and nobody can convince me otherwise.
My previous playlist for Lara Jean was much more upbeat than this one is likely going to be. But my family always tells me I listen to sad music, so I guess that’s to be expected. Without further ado, a playlist dedicated to the wonderful Jem Carstairs!
