Guys, the year is almost half over already. Where did the time go? That means that it’s the end of May, meaning it’s time for my May 2020 Wrap Up. I did a decent amount of reading this month, between audiobooks and graphic novels. Most of my reading was also focused on my unread books, so bonus! I feel like I’m actually making some headway in reducing my unread shelf.
Since June is Pride Month, my goal is to read mostly LGBTQ+ books for the month. I have quite a decent amount of unread ones that I own, plus I ordered a few others. Aside from a couple of books I have to review, I have faith I can do it! I’m also co-hosting an Instagram challenge and readalong, and you should join if you’re interested!
All in all, I finished 24 books this month. I think this is going to be my average for the rest of the year!
Reading Challenges
I finished the prompts for the challenges I’ve been doing. This month, the Undread Shelf prompt was backlist title. So, I read:
- Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman
I’ve loved her other books, but I had never gotten around to reading her debut. I’m glad I did! It fit all of my expectations.
For the Read Harder Challenge, I may have cheated with a re-read. But it still counts!
- Read the last book in a series: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
- Read a book that takes place in a rural setting: The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones
With the library still closed, my trend of reading unread books will continue for at least the next month, I think. Maybe I’ll even get close to my goal for the year! We’ll see.
Other May Favorites
We finally finished Westworld this month, which went in an interested direction. I didn’t really watch any movies this month, but my mom and I did catch up on some of the shows we watch. Like the final season of How to Get Away with Murder. It was actually a satisfactory season ending, I was pretty happy with it.
My sister and I are still watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which is still hilarious. We’re going to have to find something else to watch when we finish that, though! Love, Victor does come out this month, so maybe we’ll be able to switch to that.
