It’s the last day of June already! Which means it’s time for my June 2020 Wrap Up. Time has been so weird this year. Secretly, I was hoping to get to 150 books this month, but I didn’t quite make it. Almost there, though. I want to see how close I can get to 300 books by the end of the year. Maybe a bit of a lofty goal, but with the rate I’ve been reading, I think I might be able to make it.
I didn’t really stick to the TBR that I had for this month, but that’s okay. I’ll just include them in my next month’s TBR. Still working on reading through my unread books, and I feel like I’ve been doing a pretty good job of it.
Reading Challenges
Even though I didn’t really stick to my TBR, I still finished the books for the reading challenges I’m doing this year! The Undread Shelf prompt for this month was: a book from a series. So, I read:
- The Good Luck Girls by Charlotte Nicole Davis
According to Goodreads, it’s going to be a series! So I’m counting it.
For the Read Harder Challenge, I borrowed some books from the library! But I’m also cross counting the book from above.
- Debut novel by a queer author: The Good Luck Girls by Charlotte Nicole Davis
- Memoir from a religious tradition different from your own: Saving Alex by Alex Cooper
The memoir was a little hard to read, since it was about conversion therapy. I think these stories are important, though, especially since it still happens. It shouldn’t still be happening, but it does.
Other June Favorites
Love, Victor premiered this month on Hulu and I loved it! Honestly, it was too short of a season. If you liked Love, Simon, you will definitely enjoy this show too. We also started watching Community, which I’m not really sure about yet. I’m told that it gets better in later seasons, so I’m waiting to pass judgement. My sister is watching The Handmaid’s Tale, so I’ve been watching that too. And Schitt’s Creek! My mom and I are almost done with that one, too.
I really haven’t been watching many movies lately, mostly just shows. Which I guess isn’t a bad thing, but I did watch Infinity War on TV the other day. All the emotions there at the end!
