We’re halfway through 2020! With the way this year has been going, that’s probably a good thing. Due to the virus, a lot of book releases have been pushed back to later in the year. But, that means that we’ve got a lot of great books to look forward to in the last half of the year! Hopefully I can make it through more of my unread shelf before then. Here are five 2020 releases I’m looking forward to in the second half of the year (and some from earlier this summer)!
2020 Releases
A Beautifully Foolish Endeavor by Hank Green
Release date: July 7th
After the cliffhanger that was An Absolutely Remarkable Thing, I can’t wait to jump into this new novel by Hank Green. As Andy, Mara, and Melissa try to unravel the secrets that the Carls brought, mysterious books start to show up. Maybe April May is alive after all?

Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas
Release date: September 1st
When his family doesn’t accept his gender, Yadriel determines to prove that he’s a real brujo. But when he accidentally summons the wrong ghost, he’s stuck helping the resident bad boy. What he doesn’t expect is to fall in love. I actually have an eARC of this book and I can’t wait to read it. Hopefully this month!

Dear Justyce by Nic Stone
Release date: September 29th
In this sequel to Dear Martin, Quan is awaiting trial after entering a not guilty plea in the death of a police officer. Through a series of letters to Justyce, the main character of Dear Martin, Quan’s story unfolds. A story that highlights the prejudice in police work. I love Nic Stone and I can’t wait for this book!

Long Way Down: The Graphic Novel by Jason Reynolds
Release date: October 13th
I’ve listened to this audiobook twice now, and it’s just as good the second time. This is a graphic novel adaptation of the story in the elevator that Reynolds tells. Just looking at the cover, the art is going to be gorgeous. I’m sure the rest of the book will follow suit!

A Sky Beyond the Storm by Sabaa Tahir
Release date: December 1st
The finale to Tahir’s An Ember in the Ashes series that everyone has been waiting for! Since this is the fourth book in a series, I won’t say too much about what it’s about. This takes place a few months after A Reaper at the Gates. I think I might have to re-listen to the books before this one comes out!
