I know I just posted my weekly wrap up yesterday, but today is the last day of August! Therefore, it’s time for my August 2020 Wrap Up! I did so much reading in August. Between jumping back into graphic novels and listening to quite a few audiobooks, so many books were read. Hopefully this can continue into the rest of the year. I think I might just be able to get to 300 books, maybe!
September will include getting caught up on my NetGalley books and my reading of YA starred reviews. I sense a lot of great books in my future!
Reading Challenges
In between everything else I read, I also finished the prompts for these this month! Yay! I read some interesting books for these this month, which always makes me happy. Especially if they’re interesting reads.
The Undread Shelf prompt for this month was buddy read. Instead, I used the wild card because I never ended up setting one up. So, I read:
- The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
I’d been meaning to read this series for forever, so I’m finally getting around to it.
For the Read Harder Challenge, I read some nonfiction and an old ARC.
- A book about climate change: The Death and Life of the Great Lakes by Dan Egan
- Doorstopper published after 1950 by a woman: The Evil Queen by Gena Showalter
Unfortunately, The Evil Queen didn’t quite end up being my cup of tea. But the other book was fantastic and informative!
Other August Favorites
This month, I finished the second season of The Umbrella Academy, which I loved! I honestly like the show better than the graphic novels, which I also read this month. The characters are just so great! I also watched The Half of It on Netflix, a teen movie that came out earlier this year that was just what I needed. I also finished Cursed and started watching Psych with my mom. Some great shows on the list to watch in the future, too!
