I’m going to be honest, I thought yesterday was Wednesday for a while. But here we are! I haven’t done a top 5 Wednesday post in a while (last one was on Bookish Songs), so I thought I would do one for this week! Staying on trend, I’m going to focus on best friendships this week. We could all use a bit of positivity in today’s world, and there’s nothing better than a great fictional friendship.
I’ve been thinking about doing some re-reading once I get caught on my TBR list. I’m in a need of some comfort reads! What are some of your favorites? Leave them in the comments.

Top 5 Favorite Friendships
1. Josie and Delia from Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee by Jeff Zentner
When I think of friendships, I always think of this book. Josie and Delia have the best friendship, making a TV show about bad horror movies. As they move towards the end of high school, they’re unsure about their future. It’s heartfelt and amazing and probably one of my favorite Jeff Zentner books. Since it’s about horror movies, it’s basically the perfect October read!
2. Frances and Aled from Radio Silence by Alice Oseman
It’s rare that a young adult book focuses on friendship rather than romance, but this book does just that. Frances and Aled quickly become close, confiding in each other. Connecting over a podcast. They both are feeling the pressures of society and what’s expected of them. Everyone expects them to be dating, but they’re focused on their friendship. And I love it!
3. Darius and Sohrab from Darius the Great Is Not Okay by Adib Khorram
Darius meets Sohrab when his family goes to Iran for the first time. It’s Sohrab who helps Darius realize that he can be himself, that gives him the confidence that he needs. Their friendship continues in Darius the Great Deserves Better, despite the distance between them. Everyone deserves a best friend like that in their life.
4. Will and Jem from Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
Hands down, Will and Jem’s friendship is one of the best in the Shadowhunter realm. They care so much for each other, willing to do whatever it takes to save the other one. They’re both fiercely protective of Tessa, who also loves them both. And this is why The Infernal Devices is probably my favorite trilogy in the Shadowhunter realm.
5. Jamal and Q from Early Departures by Justin A. Reynolds
A newer release, but Jamal and Q’s friendship is one of those that withstands a lot. Sure, they weren’t exactly talking at the beginning of the book, but they’re able to work through it. This book is about grief, friendship, and love. I desperately need to read Reynolds other book because this one was amazing.
