If you follow me on Instagram, you know that The House in the Cerulean Sea is a new favorite for me. Honestly, I can’t wait to re-read it. It’s one of those books that just feels like a warm hug, you know? So, in honor of that, this month’s playlist is dedicated to Linus Baker! Linus Baker, who is good with sticking to the rules until he realizes what he’s missing. Until he meets Arthur and the little family that lives on Marsyas Island who show him what he’s been missing by living on his own all these years. It’s such a sweet story, one that everyone desperately needs right now, I think! If you’re looking for a happy comfort read to round out 2020, this is definitely the one for you.
Character Playlist: Linus Baker
At the beginning of the book, Linus is so sure of his path in life. So sure he’s making a difference. But when he’s sent to the Marsyas Island Orphanage, everything changes. It’s there that Linus realizes that maybe he hasn’t really been living. Maybe, it’s time to do something outside of the box. And maybe, just maybe, he’s missing having a family. All he needs is someone, or someones, to show him what he’s been missing all this time. After all, everyone deserves a family. And just maybe, that’s where Linus can make the difference that he’s always been trying to make.
