Just like Laia, Elias, and Helene, the Nightbringer is desperate to get revenge on humanity. With Keris Veturia on his side, he seems unstoppable.
Together with the Blood Shrike, Laia throws herself into research about the Nightbringer. Meanwhile, Helene tries to figure out how to keep her country in power. And the Soul Catcher (Elias), wants to forget his past. However, it might be him remembering the past that can save them all. Without him, the Nightbringer might just win.
Review: A Sky Beyond the Storm
The ending to such a fantastic series! I listened to it on audiobook, and it’s one of my all-time favorites (check out other recommendations if you love this series). Honestly, I can’t wait to see what Sabaa Tahir does after this series because her writing is so good. I’ll probably read anything she writes in the future.
Anyway, I’m going to keep this review spoiler free for those that haven’t read it yet. However, I might spoil some things in the previous books, so if you haven’t read that far, read on at your own risk. My favorite thing about this series is the characters. They are so well rounded, and so desperate to fight for their causes. They’re fierce and protective of those that they love. Even though not everyone sees it, they’re wholesome and good at their core. I would honestly protect them at all costs.
And the world! Tahir’s world she created is so vast that I wish I had a map to look at while I was listening to the audiobook. There are interesting creatures and unique twists on magic. She had me gasping at some points, tearing up at others, even laughing at times. There are so many emotions in this book that it’s definitely difficult to put down.
If you haven’t read this series yet, now is the time to do so! Go and binge the whole series, or ask for it as a gift! I’ll continue recommending it to everyone looking for a new fantasy series to start.
