Welcome to the last week in January! I’m feeling pretty good about where I’m at for my January TBR; I just have two more books I need to write reviews for. Then, I have a lot of reviews for February, so stay tuned! This week, I’m back with another Top Ten Tuesday post, this week focused on New to Me Authors in 2020! I actually read a lot of new authors in 2020 (at least, it feels like it), from debuts to not. I can’t wait to read more from them in 2021 and beyond!
Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and is currently run by The Artsy Reader Girl. Check out my last one here!

New to Me Authors in 2020
1. Aiden Thomas
Cemetery Boys is probably my favorite book I read last year (check out my review here!). I just loved the characters and the world in the book. I have an eARC of their new book that comes out in March and I am stoked! Hopefully, it lives up to their first book.
2. TJ Klune
If you’ve been on bookstagram in the last year or so, I’m sure you’ve seen The House in the Cerulean Sea somewhere! However, this wasn’t the first TJ Klune book I read. It was actually The Extraordinaries. After those two, I’m definitely interested in reading more!
3. Leah Thomas
A favorite rom-com for me last year was You Should See Me in a Crown. It’s heartfelt, hilarious, and made you forget the world for a little bit. Honestly, this is a book I’m likely to read again!
4. Roseanne A. Brown
Okay, not only is A Song of Wraiths and Ruin an exceptional fantasy, it also has a gorgeous cover. Also, the sequel is just as gorgeous! As I start making a pre-order list for the rest of the year, this one will make it on there for sure.
5. Alice Oseman
Alice Oseman is an author I’ve seen everywhere, but I had never read her books. Now I have! Heartsopper is being made into a Netflix show (eep!). However, Radio Silence is the first book I read. Both made an impact meaning Alice Oseman is now on my radar!
6. Alexis Hall
If you’re looking for a book that reads similarly to Red, White, & Royal Blue, look no further! Boyfriend Material is a hilarious rom-com that feels similar. The characters are great, and the story like feels unique. In fact, this is a great place to go if you want to read more LGBTQ romance!
7. Margaret Rogerson
While not a new author in 2020, Rogerson is to me! Sorcery of Thorns is one of those books that is hard to describe but wonderful to read. It transports you to this new world full of books, and I’m so happy to have read it.
8. Adib Khorram
Darius! Adib Khorram gave us Darius and I love him. Darius the Great Is Not Okay and its sequel are great looks at mental health, sexuality, and culture. I loved both of these and will absolutely read anything else Khorram writes!
9. Adam Sass
If you’re looking for an LGBTQ+ thriller, look no further! Surrender Your Sons is a suspenseful read sure to keep you on your toes. Not only that, but it authentically examines the intersection between coming out and religion. And the dangers of conversion camps.
10. Justin A. Reynolds
Not a new author in 2020, but Reynolds had a new book! Early Departures reminded me a bit of an Adam Silvera book. Contemporary fiction with a surrealist spin. It’s emotional, but also a great look at the way friendships change during times of trauma and grief.
