Hello friends! It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for a Top Ten Tuesday post! Today we’re going to be talking about book titles as Crayola colors. Which is such a fun idea! We all know that Crayola is known for some of their crazy color names, and these book titles would definitely fit in a box of crayons. Often, the covers fit the colors they would be, too!
Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and is currently run by The Artsy Reader Girl. Check out my last one here!

Book Titles as Crayola Colors
1. The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
Maybe this is cheating because there is a crayon called cerulean, but oh well. The cover of this book is the perfect crayon color; I’d use it all the time! Bright and happy, just like the story within.
2. Yolk by Mary HK Choi
I bet you can picture exactly what color this would be. The book cover fits it really well, too! A bright yellow, perfect for any sunny day. Even if this story isn’t super happy. Not many books are yellow, but this one definitely pulls it off.
3. The Sky Blues by Robbie Couch
Again, the color of this cover gives away the crayon color. Just look at the blue! In the book, the characters talk about how the sky is bluer in northern Michigan, and I’d say I have to agree. There’s nothing like that blue sky.
4. Chlorine Sky by Mahogany L. Browne
Apparently, I’m sticking with cool colors for this list. Mainly, blues. Even though the color of this cover isn’t blue, I definitely associate chlorine with pools. This would be that artificial blue you associate with community pools, for sure.
5. Primer by Jennifer Muro
While generally a primer is an early color, this could be an off-white kind of color. Plus, the book itself is about a girl who uses paint as a super power–how cool is that?
6. Dark and Deepest Red by Anna-Marie McLemore
I imagine this color as a really, really dark red. Like the darkest red you could possibly imagine. The cover hints toward this color and it would be an absolutely gorgeous red.
7. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
You know that color when you have a fire when the fire is just going out? That’s the color this is. That dark, glowing orange kind of color. The perfect color for a budding revolution, like in this book.
8. Star Daughter by Shveta Thakrar
This color would be a brilliant goal. Shiny and beautiful, like the gold details found on the cover of the book. The color you might think a star is, if it was made of gold.
9. A Phoenix First Must Burn by Patrice Caldwell
There’s a phoenix depicted on the cover of this book, and it’s absolutely the color I imagine this crayon to be. A combination of a reddish-orange, like a flame in bird form.
10. A Song Below Water by Bethany C. Morrow
This is the color of the deep ocean, like a dark blueish green. The depths where we don’t really know what lives there. But we can imagine this dark, blueish color.
