Happy Pride Month, friends! I’m going to be posting recommendation lists throughout the month. My goal is to have them posted on Wednesdays, but we’ll see if I can keep that up. I think I can! Today we’re talking about books with Ace-Spectrum characters. Asexuality means that you don’t feel sexual attraction toward other people, where aromance means you don’t feel romantic attraction. There’s a wide spectrum on both of these ends, so the characters here will represent this variety! I’ve done posts before, so I’ll hopefully be adding to it.
This identity isn’t as represented as other identities in the LGBTQ+ community, but this is slowly changing! At least, in the YA realm. Which I am always happy to see!

Ace-Spectrum Book Recs
Let’s Talk About Love by Claire Kann
Alice is ready for the perfect summer. However, when her girlfriend breaks up with her because she’s asexual, her plans changed. Until she meets Takumi and has those romance butterflies. This book is on my TBR for June and I can’t wait to read it!
Our Dreams at Dusk by Yuhki Kamatani
This is a manga with a vast array of LGBTQ+ characters. Tasuku is the new kid in town and doesn’t want to tell anyone he is gay. Until he meets a mysterious woman who gives him a place to belong. The woman ends up being asexual, and there are some great discussions about it in this book.
Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand
Girls have been disappearing on the island of Sawkill Rock for decades. This is where Marion, Zoey, and Val meet, where there’s a legend of an insidious monster on the island. If you’re looking for something with spooky vibes, this is the one for you!
Loveless by Alice Oseman
Georgia doesn’t understand why she’s never had crushes or wanted to kiss anyone, at least until she gets to college. It’s there she learns about asexuality and comes to understand her identity. The latest from Alice Oseman, and sure to make you feel all the things!
Elatsoe by Darcie Little Badger
In the America that Elatsoe (Ellie) lives in, everything is shaped by the ancestral magic of the Indigenious people. Ellie can raise the spirits of dead animals, and goes on a search to find out who killed her cousin. If you like supernatural things like ghosts, you’ll love this book.
