June is over already! I think I start every monthly wrap up post, but oh well. It’s always true. Anyway, I did so much reading and reviewing this month! I needed to because I had so many books to read. And pretty much all of them were queer in some way. There was only one book on my TBR I didn’t get to, so I’m counting that as a win.
Anyway, I finished 35 books this month. Possibly 36 if I finish reading Rule of Wolves tonight. Which I need to anyway because it’s due tomorrow. Wish me luck! I’m including it on here anyway.
Reading Challenges
I was a bit all over the place with these this month. But I still finished up some of the prompts for Book Riot’s Read Harder Challenge and for Unreadshelf Project. In July, there are some re-reads I want to get to, so some of my reading plans will probably change for next month. But that’s okay, too!
For the Unreadshelf Project, I read:
- A book bought on a spending spree: Let’s Talk About Love by Claire Kann. It was so relatable and I loved it!
For the Read Harder Challenge, here are the prompts I have done:
- Read a SFF anthology by a person of color: Love After the End by Joshua Whitehead
- Historical Fiction with POC or LGBTQ+ protagonist: Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo
Other June Favorites
So in June, I also watched Love, Victor which I loved. Great second season. We also finished The Handmaid’s Tale which left off on such a cliffhanger. I’m not sure where the show is going, but it’s intense. Movie wise, I also watched In the Heights and Luca. In the Heights wasn’t necessarily my favorite (it felt too long), but I loved Luca. Such a heartwarming movie.
