Pride Month may be coming to a close next week, but summer isn’t! There are lots of great pride books that you can read all summer long. Personally, I like to read lighthearted romances in the summer, books that I know will make me happy. Perfect books to read outside or on the beach! The books on this list all have that kind of feel. You’ll want to check out these summer books for Pride and beyond!
Also my library pile is kind of slowing down, but not really. I’ve really got to stop putting so many books on hold. We all know that that’s never going to happen, but we can keep dreaming.

Summer Books for Pride and Beyond
Meet Cute Diary by Emery Lee
Noah runs a blog about transgender meet cutes, which unfortunately is all fictional. When his blog is threatened to be exposed, he starts fake dating Drew, a boy he met at a bookstore. As Noah’s feelings start to turn toward real ones, he learns that dating might not follow the plan he had set up for himself. An adorable rom-com with a very summery cover! You Should See Me in a Crown by Leah Johnson
In order to win a scholarship, Liz enters her school’s Homecoming Queen competition. To achieve her musical dreams, she has to win. What she doesn’t expect is to be distracted by the competition. A perfect rom-com that plays out like a movie. I think I put this on every list, but I don’t care. It’s one of my favorite books from last year!
What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera
Speaking of meet cutes, Arthur and Ben have on in New York City at the start of the summer. However, every time they try to go on a first date, they need a do-over. Are they really meant to be? This is the perfect time to read this book if you haven’t, because it’s officially getting a sequel this December.

His only problem? He’s not sure how to distinguish between his heart and his hormones. Of course, he gets into ridiculous situations, but that’s being a teenager. (Check out my full review here!)
Camp by LC Rosen
A book about summer camp is definitely the perfect setting for summer. In order to land his crush, Randy decides to take a different route at camp this summer: sports instead of drama. But as he gets closer to his crush, he has to decide how much of his personality he wants to give up to find love.
The Sky Blues by Robbie Couch
Sky may be out, but he tries to fly under the radar in his small town Michigan home. This year, he’s determined to land his crush as a date to the homecoming dance. However, when his plans are outed to the whole school, it backfires. What he doesn’t realize is how much of his school actually supports him. (Another one with a full review!)
She Drives Me Crazy by Kelly Quindlen
A rivals to lovers romance with fake dating! It has all the best tropes in it. After a minor car accident in the school parking lot, Scottie and Irene are forced to carpool to school. When an opportunity arises for Scottie to make her ex jealous, she bribes Irene to fake date her. What she doesn’t expect is to develop real feelings (check out my full review here!)
