We’re at the end of July, friends! I know I’ve said it 500 times, but this year is just flying by. July especially, I think because it’s been so busy. But I’m just about moved into a new apartment, so things should slow down for me in the next week or so. At least at home! Honestly, Work has been a bit crazy, too. Anyway, for my July 2021 Wrap Up, I read a total of 38 books! It might be one or two more, depending on what I finish tonight. I have some manga I have to read and return to the library.
Reading Challenges
First, I’m going to be honest, I didn’t pay as much attention to these this month. In general, I was just distracted by how many library books that I have checked out and how many books I have to review. But, I did finish a few challenges!
For the Unreadshelf Project, the prompt was “A book bought for the cover.” So I read:
- Any Way the Wind Blows by Rainbow Rowell
Not completely for the cover, but I did buy multiple editions for the covers. Thus, I’m counting it.
For Book Riot’s Read Harder Challenge, I only finished one prompt:
- Read a food memoir by an author of color: Notes from a Young Black Chef by Kwame Onwuachi
Although, I’m not too far behind on this challenge. Thus, so I’m not worried about finishing it up.
Other July Favorites
Black Widow finally came out this month, so I went to watch that. At the theater! I was so happy with it! It was a really well done movie, giving more depth to the character of Black Widow. Furthermore, it’s a movie that should have come out ages ago, but here we are. I don’t think I really watched any other movies this month, outside of things that were just on TV. I did finish Parks and Rec with my mom, and we started watching Friends. I’m still re-watching The Office and will hopefully start some other shows when I get settled into my new apartment.
