Summary
It’s 2010, and Kendra is preparing for the USA Surfing Prime West. She’s competiting in honor of her brother, who had died from a drug overdose. Ever since then, surfing has been the only thing that helps Kendra get through her panic attacks related to her brother’s death. Surfing is what helps her through her grief.
Brock is the new kid at school, and the newest drug dealer. When Brock and Kendra meet at the Homecoming dance, there is an instant connection. So, they decide to start a game of 21 questions to get to know each other better. What they don’t expect is to learn more about themselves in the process, too. Maybe, just maybe, the two can help each other face life’s storms.
Review: 21 Questions
Thanks to SparkPress for a copy of this book to review! If you’re looking for a steamy romance to round out your summer, definitely pick this one up. It would be a great book to bring to your final beach days before the summer is over!
To start, this book is full of emotions and the author isn’t afraid to tackle important topics and issues. Kendra and Brock’s relationship has quite a few rocky moments, but it’s kind of expected in a romance novel where opposites attract. While the plot line is a bit predictable, you do get lost in Kendra and Brock’s relationship. They have fantastic chemistry on the page and you can’t help but be drawn in.
Rizik also has a lot of great character development in this book. This definitely helps with the chemstiry, as Kendra and Brock are two fully formed characters, both with flaws they definitely have to work through. Even though this was a quick read for me, it was enjoyable and entertaining. Kendra and Brock make you want to keep reading for sure.
