Happy Wednesday, friends! Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet over the last weekend; we moved my sister to Washington DC! It was a bit of a whirlwind trip, which meant no time for blog post writing. But that still left plenty of time for reading! Anyway, to get in the spirit of Halloween, this week’s topic is Orange and Black Covers. We’ll see what orange and black covers we can find in the realm of YA!
Top Five Wednesday is meme run through a group on Goodreads. Definitely check out their list for some topic inspiration! Check out my last Top Five Wednesday here.

Orange and Black Covers
1. Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
This one is one of the only completely orange books I can think of! Even if there is some text breaking it up on the cover. Also, still in love with the format of this book. Makes for such an interesting reading journey!
2. Blackout edited by Dhonielle Clayton
Obviously, the title of this one makes it well suited for this prompt. It’s also a spectacular book! You can read about it in my review I wrote a few months ago. Plus, it’s getting adapted into a TV series!
3. Not Your Sidekick by C.B. Lee
Another orange book! I’ll admit, this one has been sitting on my to-read shelf for ages. I really need to get to it because it sounds totally right up my alley! Maybe I’ll get to it before the end of the year. We shall see.
4. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
One more black cover for you! This one might be considered a classic now; I can’t believe it’s been over 10 years since it came out. Which also makes me feel kind of old. But it does have an iconic black cover!
5. Burn by Patrick Ness
We’ll end with a book that incorporates both orange and black on it’s cover! With that striking fire on the cover, this one almost speaks Halloween from the get go. Even if it isn’t necessarily about that. It’s still a fantastic book!
