Summary

Carter is recently out and looking for a hookup. Unfortunately, in his high school, there aren’t exactly a lot of options. At least, until Adrian enters the picture. Adrian, who is recently single, plays along with Carter’s flirting at first. Until he realizes that he’s still in love with his ex.

After an eventful house party where Carter helps both Adrian and his best friend Maria, Adrian and Carter start to form a friendship. The more they hang out, the more they realize there might be something more there. But will their friendship survive it?

Review: Always Raining Here

Thanks to NetGalley and First Second for an advanced copy of Always Raining Here by Hazel and Bell to review! The cover of this book looked adorable, so I was excited to jump into the story. It’s another one of those graphic novels adapted from a webcomic, which are always fun to see.

We jump right into the story at the beginning, with Carter looking for someone to hook up with. Some of the best moments in the book are the repeated attempts from Carter to get Adrian to go out with him. There are lots of extravagant gestures that start to wear Adrian down. They set a lighthearted tone for the rest of the story.

You can see the art progression from beginning to end in this one, with Hazel and Bell refining their technique as they go on. Carter and Adrian have good chemistry, and I enjoyed getting to see their relationship progress. Though it’s not without its relationship drama. Plus, there are some good side characters that help to round out the story.

All in all, if you like cute romance graphic novels, definitely check this one out when it comes out in November!
