Let’s begin with the basics: I love to read. Books have been a constant throughout my whole life, from reading as many books as I could for summer library programs when I was a kid to earning two degrees in English; my love of books has not faded as I’ve gotten older. In school, I studied children’s and young adult literature, so that’s where much of my reading base comes from, but I do stray from that every now and again!
Currently, I’m working toward an MLIS degree, where I’m concentrating on services to children and young adults. Outside of school, I work at Herrick District Library as a youth services aide and Barnes and Noble as their Community Business Coordinator. Basically, I’m around books all the time.
Some of my favorite books include: Harry Potter, Everyday by David Levithan, Carry On by Rainbow Rowell, More Than This by Patrick Ness, and Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. My book collection is my biggest pride, and will probably be the most difficult thing to move when I eventually find a job. I have a cat named Nox, can’t survive without my cup of coffee in the morning, and carry a book wherever I go.
I use a 5 star system when rating books, and I rate the book based on how much I was engaged in the story. Feel free to email me to suggest books, request a review, or just to chat!
