Review: The Worst Is Yet to Come
Thanks to Henry Holt and NetGalley for an advanced copy of The Worst Is Yet to Come by Trish Lundy to review! YA thrillers are definitely highly popular at the moment, so I was excited to get to read this one. Especially as we are moving into the perfect season for thrillers.
The pace of this book will absolutely keep you on the edge of your seat. Someone is still after Rose after graduation night, and she has to find the killer before they can finish the job. Having a dual POV helps to keep the pace up; especially since you’re trying to also figure out what happened in the past. There are two mysteries woven into one story, keeping you invested until the very end.
While some of the reveal isn’t 100% surprising, it does give a few surprises that keep you on your feet. The ending overall is satisfying for both girls; at least in the fact that it’s revealed what happened to them and they get justice. It did feel like there were moments with more telling than showing, but it didn’t necessarily take away from the overall pace of the book.
If you like thrillers that feature small towns with messy, dark secrets, this will definitely be the book for you!
