About Me

A little bit about me. Let’s begin with the basics: I love to read. Books have been a constant throughout my whole life; I was the kid who read as many books as possible for the summer reading program. Originally, I wanted to be an author/book editor, but have since transitioned to the library world.
Currently, I’m work at Herrick District Library as a youth services assistant. At work, I’m known as the young adult lit expert, and I take that title seriously. I hold a BA and MA in children’s/YA literature, as well as an MLIS. You can usually find me on the library’s TikTok page, making silly videos and recommending books.
Some of my favorite books include:
- Heartstopper by Alice Oseman
- Red, White, & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
- Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
- More Than This by Patrick Ness
- Legendborn by Tracy Deonn
- Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
- The Extraordinaries by TJ Klune
I have a cat named Charlie, can’t survive without my cup of coffee in the morning, and carry a book wherever I go. In the summers, I like to garden and have recently become a fan of crocheting. That’s the gist about me!
I use a 5 star system when rating books, and I rate the book based on how much I was engaged in the story. 5 stars usually means that it’s something I will read again. Feel free to email me to suggest books, request a review, or just to chat!
